Matt Hunsworth
The 2024 Hogtown Brew-off awards occurred on Saturday, May 25th, 2024.
The ceremony was held live in Black Adder Brewing’s newly expanded event space, and Brewers Anonymous was present to participate in the homebrew community comradery.
Brewers Anonymous took third place overall, having shared a spot on the podium in all of the circuit competitions so far this year.
This success was all thanks to our brewers winning the following medals:
Khrysti Hunsworth – Silver for American Lager
Mike Thompson – Silver for Scwarzbier, Silver for New Zealand Pilsner, and Silver for Specialty Spiced Beer
Matt Truman Smith – Silver for Irish Stout
Joe Flatterly – Bronze for American Pale Ale
Matt Hunsworth – Silver for American Amber
Ken McChord – Silver for Double IPA
Eric Rodriguez – Silver for Catharina Sour and Silver for Mixed-Style Beer
Max Furth – Gold for Specialty Wood-aged Beer
JJ Ocampo – Silver for Semi-Sweet Mead
Kevin Merman – Silber of Spice/Herb/Vegetable Mead
Joe Starzyk – Gold for Weissbier and Silver Best of Show
Bill Carley – Silver for Belgian Golden Strong Ale, Gold for Experimental Mead, and Silver Best of Show Mead/Cider
Great job, everyone, once again! We’ve now placed in every circuit competition this year—the only other club to have placed that is our friends at CASK!
Speaking of CASK, congratulations to them for earning another first-place Heavy Medal Club title in this competition, and also a big congratulations to the host club of Hogtown Homebrewers for earning the second-place Heavy Medal Club title.
