The Florida Homebrew Competition season has been a neck-and-neck race between Brewers Anonymous and the Cowford Ale Share Klub (CASK). When we were preparing for defeat, a massive win at SAAZ revitalized our brewers, and we will not stop until the season is officially over!
The awards ceremony for Commander SAAZ took place on Saturday, August 17th, 2024.
Our brewers were awarded the following medals:
Eric Gomez – Bronze for International Pale Lager and Gold for Spice/Herb/Vegetable Beer
David Fetty – Gold for Czech Premium Pale Lager
Mike Thompson – Bronze for Vienna Lager and Gold for Schwarzbier
Max Furth – Silver to Doppelbock
Kenny McChord – Gold for American IPA
Ian O’Keefe – Gold for Classic Style Smoked Beer
JJ Ocampo – Silver for Semi-Sweet Mead and Gold for Experimental Mead
Eric Rodriguez – Bronze for American IPA, Gold for Sweet mead, and Gold Best of Show Mead/Cider
Matt Hunsworth – Gold for American Amblers Ale, Gold for Specialty IPA, Silver Best of Show Beer, and 1st Place Heavy Medal Brewer
In the end, Brewers Anonymous took first place in Heavy Medal Club and earned a much-needed 37 points for this competition!
We are not trailing CASK by only 8 points with two competitions remaining and the National Homebrew Competition awards to be announced.
