Brewers Anonymous returned to Ivanhoe Park Lager House on November 21st for our November members’ meeting,
Competitions Wrapping Up the Year
Our final Inner Club judging for 2025 — High ABV Beers (8%+ ABV, any BJCP style) — will take place at the December meeting, concluding this year’s Club Brewer of the Year race. We also judged the results of our Fantasy Draft Brew Off – results later in the post.
Looking Ahead: Hot & Humid 2026
Hot & Humid planning has already kicked started, and we’re raising the bar once again. Key volunteer needs include celler hands (highest priority), donation solicitors, dedicated brewers for judges’ bags, and a small committee to brainstorm event improvements and elevate the competitor experience.
A New Board Year Incoming
Club elections are coming in December! Mike, Matt, and JJ will seek re-election for President, VP, and Secretary respectively, while Treasurer and Archivist roles are open as Trevor and Kenny conclude their service. Members also voted to sell unused club equipment to better support club operations.

Festival Season Success
We poured beers across Central Florida this fall — taking home second place at Space Coast Beer Fest with Honolulu Heat Wave, a pineapple-habanero cider from Molly & Jason Breckling. Orlando Beer Fest once again saw us drawing crowds (and emptying kegs!).
And while sign-ups were light for Tom & Dan’s Bad at Business Festival, members rallied fast — showcasing one of the things we love most about this club.
Brewers Anonymous Featured by the American Homebrewers Association
Brewers Anonymous was invited as one of only five clubs nationwide to participate in an AHA “Building Better Homebrew Clubs” livestream — a huge recognition of our modern and community-driven approach to club management.
Florida Competition Circuit Concludes:
We also celebrated a killer finish to the Florida Circuit season:
- Dozens of statewide medals
- Club of the Year for the third time in a row — our 4th overall
- Half of the Top 10 Florida Homebrewers of the Year are Brewers Anonymous members
Training & Education
The 2026 BJCP tasting exam is now officially scheduled for July 11th with 12 seats available. A suggested study timeline — starting in January — gives new judges a achievable path to prepare and gain experience before exam day. The club is also exploring expanding our online LMS to include Mead Judging.
Fantasy Brew Off Winners Announced!
🥇 The Yeastie Boys — Coffee Porter
🥈 Clermont Kviek Kings — Coconut & Honey Rye
🥉 The Hunsworts — Smoked British Golden Ale with Watermelon + Hot Pepper
Seven teams, wildly creative ingredient combos — and some shockingly drinkable results!
Celebrating the Three-Peat
We capped off the evening with a well-earned three-peat celebration, complete with a Publix cake and a special “surprise club beer” — vintage bottles brewed by the first Brewers Anonymous board and saved for a moment just like this. The Florida Circuit trophy was returned to our case, where it deserves to stay.
